Art - Magazine Cover

...This picture represents the dishonesty side of my theme. The photo on the left is of the final image of Faith Hill used on the magazine cover, and the image on the right is the original photo taken before being edited. If you look closely you can see where the photo has been edited or touched up, which to me is not being very honest with the audience. Her front arm has been made abnormally thin, and they have also added a back arm where you can see in the original her back arm wasn't actually there. They have also eliminated the wrinkles on her face and the lines under her eyes, and lightened her hair. They have also changed the glare on her face and her skin tone. This image represents dishonesty from the editors and the magazine company. This can cause many negative responses from readers, fans, and also Faith Hill herself, thinking that she is not good enough or skinny enough. Photo shopping and editing pictures in magazines is a common thing, but it is not considered honest, and is definitely not sending the right message to our society. Being dishonest about their photos to make them look better can also cause a bad reputation to the magazine company, which can have a negative impact on their business...
