...This story is a perfect example of how honesty pays in the end. The woodcutter who lost his axe was honest with Mercury about which one was his. When mercury pulls out the gold and silver axes, the man does not lie and say that they are his, but instead tells Mercury that his was an old iron axe. Mercury was so impressed with the man's honesty that he decided to return the woodcutter's original axe aswell as give him the gold and silver ones. The man was honest with Mercury even though the gold and silver axes were of much more value than his. This story can relate to the short fiction story "The Parable" by Ajay Kumar, because both the woodcutter and the girl chose to be honest and in the end received rewards that they would not have recieved if they had chosen to be dishonest. The goes to show that honesty pays and good things can happen to those who choose to tell the truth...
